Charity Projects

Each year, Ekagi chooses a charity to support. Giving back a percentage of profits, as well as dedicating time to helping and promoting causes is a big part of the Ekagi brand. After all, our name means 'take action', so it's only right that we practice what we preach!

10% of profits on each item sold goes to our charity of the year, 25% on our fundraising items. Plus, throughout the year you'll see donation opportunities and also shoutouts to our charity and what they're working on right now. Donations are made each month, meaning that our charity doesn't have to wait all year until our accountant runs the books!

For 2020/21 our chosen charity of the year is Leicester Animal Aid. This charity is especially important for our founder Vicki as its in her childhood home and is where she volunteered as a teenager. She knows the charity does great work and wanted to support a small charity that will see a bigger impact from the donations and exposure that we can provide.

Keep an eye on the blog and social media for updates throughout the year. You can learn more about Leicester Animal Aid by clicking here.

Why on 10% of profits? As the % is of the profits on each item sold, rather than our total profits, we need to pay for all of the other business expenses too - anything that's not the cost of the product also comes out of the profits on each item sold. So everything from staff to advertising, customer care, website fees, payment fees, electricity, insurance.....it all comes out of the profits too and we need to make sure we earn enough for the business to say alive. Otherwise, we won't be able to do anything for the charities. As well as donating profits, we'll also be doing what we can to raise awareness for this charity, as well as others close to our hearts.
